combining vb string card example with vb debit card example

Is it possible to combine the vb string card example with vb debit card example?

I want to use the password protection scheme that is used in the vb issue debit card example to secure the data I'm writing to my string card. I also want to include the verify and change password from the vb debit terminal example. My string card setup is based on the string card example.

There must be a simple solution to get this to work but all of my attempts have failed.
Any ideas on how to combine and setup these commands to get it to work?
