I had assumed that loading the DLLs dynamically would solve the problem. I didn't try it before posting my reply to you, though. So it seems that that's no solution, either. If the folks at ZeitControl don't come up with a solution, I could see if there's a possibility to modify libbasiccard (which is mostly compatible to the official C-API) to support the connection of reader during the runtime of a program. I'd need some time for this, though.
